Technical trainers impart expertise in handling complex technical equipment, train employees and customers on machines and have to explain many technical details to them. In German, it is often difficult to "bring one's expertise" to the participant.

It only becomes really challenging when the participants in product and technical training come from abroad, usually in English. Some don't seem to have the level of technical knowledge you would expect; others barely speak English; and still others seem to be present but not interested.

Intercultural competence is needed to know how other people with different cultural backgrounds (professional, corporate, country cultures, etc.) learn, process information and act. One of the biggest challenges is the cultural differences, power asymmetries and uncertainties between the various stakeholders. The participants receive important suggestions and practical recommendations in this regard.

The aim of this training is to give technical trainers the assurance that their participants have understood the right things, apply what they have learned and thus the training has been effective.

Since the language of training in international training is usually English, the training takes place partly in German and partly in English. (For the appropriate target group: French, Spanish or Portuguese.)

Content:

  • Overview: How do cultures influence learning and teaching style?
  • Planning a Technical Training: How to set goals for different target groups
  • Beginning of a Technical Training: Which (international) participants need which structure?
  • The role of the trainer from different perspectives: What are the expectations and what are the consequences for the teaching of content and the use of methods
  • Theory: How do I explain complex technical details simply and in a foreign language?
  • Practice: How can I implement practical learning with people from different cultures at the machine?
  • Methods: How can I use different media and methods depending on my level of knowledge, (intercultural) learning style preference and training goals?
  • Motivation: How do I make sure that what I have learned is applied?
